In an effort to bring the unparalleled experience of luxury yachting to as many people as possible, we are thrilled to be partnering with the bespoke travel company, Ariodante in creating unbelievable experiences both on land and at sea. Created by Ricardo Araujo in 2014, he was looking to bring even more passion and creativity to clients looking to craft bespoke luxury experiences. I was lucky enough to have a chat with Ricardo recently as he shared a behind the scenes look into Ariodante.
You have planned everything from intimate gourmet dinners in front of some of the world’s most famous artworks; to a full-on murder mystery onboard the original Orient Express, and been featured in Condé Nast Traveler, Forbes and Elite Traveler among others. Where did the dream of Ariodante come from?
I created Ariodante out of passion, in fact without really looking to fill a gap in the market or anything. I believe this was one of the reasons for my success. However yes, there are many high net worth travellers always looking for something more. To travel in a more exclusive way but most of all to travel in a way that really matters for them. Nowadays, travel in the luxury industry isn’t about a location or a luxurious hotel as they are all very similar everywhere. What they are looking for is to really live something unique and something they will remember forever. This exactly Ariodante’s specialty.
Is the sky the limit? How bespoke of a package can you help to curate?
Actually it is. I like to say the limit is just our imagination. Gladly our team and I have a pretty good imagination! The real limitation is more a matter of budget, that’s why our travel experiences are for the elite.
We never just visit a museum or book a great restaurant. What we do is, for example, bring the best chef to the museum so, after a private visit of that museum you can dine in front of your favourite artwork and, as a cherry on top of all that, you will be able to do that with the curator or the director of the museum or even an artist (or why not all of them?). We always do our best to know as much as we can about each person we work for. Their taste, their hobbies, their passions and even their dreams. Then, we put all that together and create something unique for that person, and if it seems impossible, then we take that as a challenge and make it happen. Just now we are launching, for example, a historical cruise on board of the oldest three-mast sailing ship in Europe. It was impossible until we did it!
