We have an excellent update for y’all today from one of our beautiful yachts based in Indonesia. The Dunia Baru Learning Center officially opened its doors in Raja Ampat last week and we couldn’t be prouder to be a partner with all at Team Dunia Baru! Read on for the full coverage.
Last week saw the grand opening of the first Learning Center in the village of Sauwandarek on the island of Mansuar in Raja Ampat. Designed by Indonesian architect, Popo Danes, the center has been built using sustainable materials and utilizing local builders and traditional techniques.
Owner Mark Robba has explained why he felt the need to open the centre:
“Raja Ampat is a very special place for me and my family as well as for Dunia Baru and her charter guests. The scenery is amazing; and the people have always been so kind. Every time I leave Raja Ampat I long to return. It means a lot that I am able to give back to the area with this project. It is my hope, and intention to ensure so, that the Learning Center will help to provide an economically viable and sustainable future for the families living here, in harmony with the environment.”
