As the leaves continue to turn here in Canada, we’re already dreaming of warmer destinations to escape to during our long cold winter! In case you missed our latest podcast published earlier this month, here’s a little peek into our interview with Teddy Garsva, broker with Sunseeker Florida as he shares his own travel tips!
I’m currently a yacht broker for Sunseeker Florida and love being able to find clients their dream yacht. Over twenty years ago, I started out as a captain on larger yachts, mainly in Italy before moving back to the USA. I was thrilled to be able to help on some new builds during my time in Italy, which gave me a great perspective on the inner workings of yachts!
What is your favourite destination and why?
A good question! But it has to be Italy. I spent so much time there working with yachts that I really got a feel for the place. All the tiny pockets and hidden gems filled with great food, good wine and amazing hospitality. I love being able to recommend some of these places to clients now when they head over for their own vacation.
If you could choose one thing that makes a yacht charter so special, what would it be and why?
Hmm, probably the exclusivity! You aren’t going to book a yacht filled with other guests you don’t know, or waste time waiting in lines for excursions, or to be served a meal. Onboard you are the VIP – and the crew is what helps make that experience even extra special!
